Each dimension within the Sonar filter can only support a limited number of values. If a field has more values than the limit, then the field will not appear within the filter. Below are the limits per each filter dimension.
Segmentation – allows to up to 16 values
Distance – up to 10 values
Color– up to 16 values
Shape– up to 4 values
Size– up to 4 values
When the segmentation/distance is set as a list of values (such as State, State Group, etc), the dots will display randomly within the cell.
For segmentation styles that are numeric based (such as Number of Comments, Revenue in $, etc), the dots will appear in a more patterned display.
