The Clarification state allows the state owner (and up) sending the idea back to the author(s) to edit the submission form fields based on their feedback. Once in Clarification state, the author is able to make the suggested changes and resubmit the idea. Resubmitted ideas always return to originating, pre-clarification state.
Configuration:
For enabling the idea to be sent to Clarification state, the feature "Send to Author for Clarification" must be activated in the relevant workflow states.
Please note that since the transition depends on the feature enabling, there is no option to allow transitions to this state, via the standard transitions page.
The toggle will be displayed as not editable and will reflect the status per the feature enablement or not.
How it Works
In order to send the idea to Clarification, the authorized user needs to get to the process window, select the "Clarification" state, and then provide information as to what needs to be clarified.
Note: To display the Clarification Needed text box, make sure the field is added to the Clarification workflow state as a Text-type Pre-Requisite field in the workflow settings.
More instructions/fields can be added via the settings.
The author(s) will have a task that will allow them to edit the submission fields they initially submitted. Once the task is complete, the idea will return to the pre-clarification originating state
Note that it is recommended to make sure you have the relevant notifications in order to make sure the process is handled/escalated. when needed
