Custom features can inherit information from their parent entity through the Field Mapping capability.

When creating a new feature, selected fields can be automatically populated with values from the parent idea or project. This eliminates the need for users to manually re-enter information that already exists on the parent entity, improving efficiency and data consistency.

Common use cases include:

  • Maintaining the same categorization across both the parent entity and the feature.

  • Automatically copying business-related information, such as expected budget, department, or other relevant fields.

  • Ensuring key data is consistently available across all related entities.
