In multi-tenancy systems, a different audience can be defined per tenant.
The audience be segmented by any of the profile fields (country, department, user type etc.)
The audience definition determines:
- Which users will belong to the tenant.
These users can land on this tenant upon login, can "return to it" in 1 click, will be counted as the users of these tenants in the report etc.
- Which users will be able to access the tenant and its content.
To configure the tenant's audience, first go to the System Settings and enter "Tenant Management":
Default tenant Settings
The Audience section enables defining to which users this tenant will be the default.
Belonging to the Tenant
Select the profile values that this tenant will be defined as their default tenant.
Please note this definition can be done by any of the profile fields, and in most cases, this definition is determined by a single profile field, such as user type, region or business unit.
If there is a need to change to another profile field, please contact support.
For example, here it is defined by the user type. The selection determines that users with the "Employees" user type will belong to this tenant.
Access to Tenant
You can determine who has access to this tenant under "Tenant Accessible for".
By default, a tenant is accessible to "All System Users", and therefore the selection of the profile field doesn't impact the tenant's accessibility.
If you want access to this tenant to be limited only to the users that belong to it, change the setting from "All System Users" to the second option:
However, the system supports more advanced configurations, offering flexibility to meet specific needs.
In this example, users from these countries and departments will be belong to this tenant.
However, access will be limited ONLY by the country profile field, meaning users from other departments can still access the tenant, even if they belong to another tenant.
System administrators will naturally be able to access all tenants, even if access is limited.
