By design of the site, the images in the Homepage widget and News widgets will appear slightly cropped. The widgets themselves are designed to zoom in on the center of the image, which may cause the outer edges to no longer appear. This is by design and cannot be changed.
If you are looking to use an image that you do not want to appear cropped, then the alternative option is to set the Main Area of the Hive to a static image and buttons. This can be done through configuring the Homepage in the self-admin settings. Please note this can only be done for one image.
It is reccomended to use images where the focus and text is in the center of the image. Otherwise, any text or details around the edges of the image may be cut off in the preview.
