Users can be tagged in comments by typing @ followed by their name (ex: @john).
This feature is highly recommended to increase collaboration and can be enabled per subsystem.
The tagged user can receive an on-screen notification and/or an email based on the below configuration.
Both the notification and email can be customized, if necessary, from within the settings menu.
From Settings / Users Management / User Tagging, you can configure notification and email settings.
On-screen/emails content
You can modify the message received on-screen/via email. The system allows you to insert variables to customize the message shown.
Optional variables are:
%title - for the content's title
%node_url - for the content's link
%nid - for the content's number
%tagging_username - for the full name of the user that tagged
XXXX. - a link that will redirect to the notification page when clicking the "XXX"
Using the variables is recommended in order to achieve personalization and encourage call-to-action.
