Qmarkets' Q-scout Startup Scouting Solution Provides an advanced, cost-effective alternative for organizations seeking comprehensive startup insights, powered by CrunchBase data and enriched by Qmarkets' proprietary AI.
The Startup DB, which includes almost 1 million startups and companies, is fully integrated into the Qmarkets platform, enabling seamless, real-time tracking and intelligent search capabilities.

Relevant startups can be easily imported into Q-Scout, allowing you to manage your scouting portfolio from a centralized hub effectively.

You can learn more about our offering in this video.
A detailed tutorial on how to use the tool can be found here.

How to Start

Using the Startup Database requires an additional annual license. Once obtained, you can enable unlimited users within your organization to access it.

After purchasing the license, there are a few key decisions you will need to make:

  1. Decide in which subsystem you would like to embed the Startup Database. The classic choice is Q-Scout, but it can be integrated into any other subsystem within the platform.
  2. Identify the users who will have access to the Startup Database and import new startups or companies into the system.
  3. Determine what information should be automatically pulled and updated from CrunchBase to ensure seamless  data synchronization.
  4. Additional settings to configure:
    • How frequently the information should be updated.
    • To which state in the workflow the new startups or companies should be added.
This is particularly useful if the imported startups or companies need to be reviewed before entering the funnel.
    • To which "folder" or "campaign" the new startups or companies should be imported.
This can be helpful if the imported startups or companies need to be managed in a separate folder from those imported manually.
    • Where the user will "land" after leaving the startup DB page

Decisions 1 and 2 should be communicated to the Customer Success Manager (CSM) to enable the Startup Database integration.

Decision 3 will be reflected in the subsystem settings, as detailed in this article.

The setting that described in #4, are done via the setting page accessible from the subsystem's main settings page, under the "Integrations" section.

Decision 5: Determining what information will be pulled from Crunchbase

As the integration allows pulling various information about the company/startup, we enable each customer to select which information will be pulled and in what field in Q-scout it will be stored.

How does it work?

Once the integration is enabled, each submission/workflow field can be defined as one that its "Source" is the Startup DB (vs "By User").

Once this selection is set, there is a need to determine what info will be pulled:

The available information changes according to the field type (i.e. text, numeric, date etc.).
This means you first need to edit one of the exists fields OR add a new one.
Note: the company name and logo are pulled automatically into the company title and image in Q-scout.

Please note that in case you do not see the new fields on the submission form, it might mean that you will need to add them to the submission form for each folder/campiagn.

What info is available to pull

This is the information on the company/startup that can be pulled:

Note: for select fields there is no need to pre-configure the options. Missing options will be added once they are imported.
