In some cases, arises a need to submit ideas on behalf of others, especially when collecting inputs from various team members that do not have access to the system or documenting past initiatives.
Fortunately, Qmarkets provides a solution enables authorized users to submit ideas on behalf of other system users. Once the author has been changed, the new user will perform as if the idea was submitted by himself/herself, i.e. he/she will appear everywhere as the author, gain the relevant points along the idea lifecycle, get notifications etc.
This action is allowed by default only to campaign managers and moderators (subsystem admins, tenant admins and system admins).
As will be explained later, this option can be enabled on the subsystem level, and then selected/not selected on the campaign level.
How to submit an idea on behalf of someone else:
Start by submitting a new idea as usual and then replace the name in the Authored by field in the submission form to reflect the desired individual (by default it will be the name of the user that performs the actions).
There is also an option to modify the author of an existing idea. Simply locate the idea you wish to update, click on the three dots, select "Edit," and then adjust the author field accordingly.
Enabling this feature on the subsystem/campaign level:
1. Enable the Field on the subsystem level:
Begin by activating the "Change Author to" field in the submission form settings.
Navigate to Settings > Submission Form, then toggle on the option for "Change Author to."
2. Campaign Submission Form Setting:
- Access the campaign in which you wish to enable this feature.
- Click on "Campaign Management," then select "Edit Campaign" and navigate to the "Submission Form" section.
- Add the Field: Within the campaign settings, locate the "Add Fields" option and drag the "Change Author to" field into the campaign fields settings.
